HIGH DRAMA IN CHESTNUT HILL

The New York Jets of the National Football League are looking for a new coach. And they want to interview Boston College coach Jeff Jagodzinski for the position.But ESPN’s Chris Mortensen reports that the school has threatened to fire Jagodzinski if he goes through with it.Specifically, Mort reports that Boston College A.D. Gene DeFilippo told Jagodzinski on Saturday that, if he interviews for the position, he’ll be out as head coach. DeFilippo reportedly reiterated his stance on Sunday.Boston College declined a request for comment from Joe Schad of ESPN.com.Mort reports, and we’ve heard separately, that Jagodzinski will proceed with the interview as scheduled on Monday.If Jagodzinski is fired, he’ll be replaced by offensive coordinator Steve Logan.Jagodzinski last worked as offensive coordinator of the Packers in 2006 before jumping to the college game.
