Colorado suffers another huge injury blow

Dan Hawkins is a dead man coaching.  Their starting quarterback has been lost for the remainder of the regular season.  And now, to add insult to injury — literally — Colorado may have lost their leading tackler as well.

Linebacker Jon Major suffered a knee injury during the Buffaloes’ latest loss and could miss the remainder of the season.  It’s unclear at this time whether the sophomore will need surgery to repair the MCL in his right knee.

“I`m not really sure on the big decisions on it right now,” Major said. “Probably do that next week. So just icing it right now.”

Redshirt freshman Liloa Nobriga is listed behind Major on CU’s depth chart and Will Likely slide into his starting spot.

It’s the second time in less than a month the reeling Buffaloes have lost their leader in tackles; safety Anthony Perkins suffered a torn ACL in a loss to Missouri and is out for the remainder of 2010.
