Mike Stoops won't tip 'Zona's QB hand

When Nick Foles went down with a knee injury a little over a week ago, the prognosis for the Arizona starting quarterback’s return was 2-3 weeks.

With the front end of that timeframe just five days away, the Wildcats’ head coach is not divulging which direction he may be headed.

Mike Stoops told the media this afternoon that, while Foles continues to improve, no decision has been made as to whether the starter or backup Matt Scott will be under center against UCLA.  In fact, even if a decision is made, Stoops intimated that he may not make it public.

“We certainly don’t want to tip our hand with what we’re doing offensively,” Stoops said.

The good news for the No. 15 Wildcats is that they appear to have a very viable option in Scott.  In the win over Washington Saturday, Scott completed 18-of-22 passes for 233 yards and tow touchdowns.  For that relief effort, he was today named the Pac-10’s Offensive Player of the Week.
