Earlier this month, it was announced that GoDaddy.com would take over for GMAC as the title sponsor for Mobile’s bowl game.
Today, a slightly more conservative and mainstream title sponsor has taken ownership of a postseason game.
According to organizers, the game formerly known as the EagleBank Bowl will now be known as the Military Bowl. Actually, to be technically correct, the game will officially be known as the Military Bowl presented by Northrop Grumman.
EagleBank will continue as a principal sponsor of the game.
The Washington D.C. bowl game is just two years old, with Navy playing in the inaugural game in 2008. Tie-ins will keep Navy and Army connected to the bowl in the coming years, provided they are bowl eligible.
This year’s game will be played Dec. 29 at RFK Stadium, and will feature teams from the ACC and Conference USA.
