Starting Arkansas DT arrested for possession

A key member of the interior of Arkansas’ defensive line has found himself with a little bit of a legal “issue” this morning, multiple media outlets are reporting.

Starting defensive tackle DeQuinta “D.D.” Jones was arrested and booked just before 7:30 a.m. ET on a charge of possession of a controlled substance by Fayetteville police.

No further details are available at this time, and the school has yet to comment on the lineman’s status.

Jones, a sophomore, has started all seven games for the Razorbacks this season.

UPDATED 11:19 a.m. ET: Citing the police report from the arrest, the Arkansas News reports that Jones was pulled over for a traffic stop and discovered the lineman had a plastic bag containing 8.7 grams of marijuana.  Once again, Wazzu agronomists scoff in the general direction of such paltry amounts.
