Bray leading big Vols comeback against 'Cocks

Maybe some of the more vocal members of Volunteer Nation are right.  Maybe it is indeed time for the Tyler Bray era to begin in earnest.

Inserted into the game with Tennessee trailing 24-10 in the third quarter, the freshman quarterback has delivered two touchdown passes and nearly 150 yards passing in less than a quarter’s worth of work.

Bray’s second touchdown pass tied the game at 24, although just briefly as, on the ensuing drive, Stephen Garcia hooked up with Alshon Jeffery on a 70-yard catch-and-run that put the Gamecocks back up 31-24 in Columbia.  That was just Jeffrey’s second reception of the game.

Regardless of how this game ultimately ends, though, it seems fairly clear that Bray taking over the Vols’ offense from starter Matt Simms is something that should happen sooner rather than later.  Much, much sooner.
