Major trouble brewing for 'Canes, Bearcats

I wish I could come up with a nice little descriptive word for today’s games. Of course I wouldneed to use alliteration and make sure to encompass the aura of the day.

Sanctimonious Saturday? Not entirely.

Separation Saturday? No that’s been used before.

Shocking Saturday? That should suffice.

We’re only an hour into college football today, but boy do we have some barnburners.

Miami (FL) is down 14-0 to Virginia, and it honestly does not look like the ‘Canescan recover. Starting quarterback JacoryHarris has been knocked out of the game with what appeared to be a concussion. The Cavaliers simply just need to holdonto the football and occasionally get to backup quarterback Spencer Whipple. Virginiarunning back Keith Payne is a bruising back that has had little to no opportunities toshowcase his talents. Expect to see him carry the football for the remainder of the game.

It seems that this year the ACC is always good for an upset. While Miami is on that track,we have another one brewing in Massachusetts. With around six minutes left in the first half,Clemson is trailing Boston College 13-10. The Tigers have only notched 75 yards of offense, andits’ lone touchdown came on a pick-six.

In the Big East, Pittsburgh has just a 6-3 lead over Louisville, and Cincinnati is beingembarrassed 17-7 by Syracuse. The Bearcats have turned the ball over twice, but connectedon a 33 yard touchdown strike from backup quarterback Chazz Anderson to D.J.Woods. Anderson got the start due to Zach Collaros sitting withan injury.
