Not only did Louisville drop their fourth game of the year against Big East foe Pittsburgh, they also lost their top offensive threat in the process. How long that latter loss will last, however, remains to be seen.
Running back Bilal Powell suffered an injury to his knee in the third quarter of the Cardinals’ 20-3 loss to the Panthers and did not return. Powell had 64 yards rushing before exiting the game.
According to the Associated Press, the injury did not appear to be severe, but Powell was unable to reenter the game after undergoing treatment in the locker room.
Powell’s 143.3 yards rushing was third best among running backs entering today’s games, and fourth overall in the country.
