No. 14 Nebraska holds a convincing 24-7 lead over Big 12 North rival, No. 6 Missouri, but the health of quarterback Taylor Martinez is unknown.
With just a few minutes in the half, Martinez took a helmet to the right leg on a run and came up limping. The injury appears to be a deep thigh bruise, although there has been no confirmation from the university. Surprisingly, coach Bo Pelini kept Martinez in the game instead of retiring the freshman to the locker room early.
It will be interesting to see if Martinez plays at all in the second half.
Updated 5:41 p.m. ET: Senior Zach Lee has started the second half for Nebraska. Martinez is on the sidelines, but in full pads. Coming out of the locker room, Pelini said that Martinez is “okay”.
