Arkansas' leading receiver injured yet again

In the week leading up to Arkansas’ game Saturday with Vanderbilt, Greg Childs was somewhat questionable due to an ankle injury.

While the wide receiver would end up playing against the Commodores, he also ended up leaving the game because of what is for now an unspecified injury.

Childs was injured after being tackled on a fourth-quarter reception and, according to the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette, pounded his fists on the ground in frustration following the injury.  He was ultimately taken into the locker room with the help of trainers and did not return to the playing field.

There is no word on what the specific injury is, although the Arkansas radio broadcast reported that he injured his knee.  Head coach Bobby Petrino said Saturday night that there was no update on Childs’ condition.

Childs leads the Razorbacks with 46 receptions, 659 receiving yards and six receiving touchdowns.

The injury bug has hit the Razorbacks wide receiver position particularly hard over the past week; second-leading receiver Joe Adams missed the Vandy game because of an ankle injury incurred during the Ole Miss game last weekend.
