'Horns lose starting lineman for at least a month

As if losing to Baylor and Iowa State in back-to-back weeks wasn’t bad enough, now Texas will have to deal with losing their top offensive lineman as well.

Head coach Mack Brown announced Monday morning that starting left guard Michael Huey will miss a significant period of time after suffering a knee injury the loss to the Bears.

Brown said the lineman would miss anywhere from four to six weeks, meaning his regular season is in all likelihood over.  Should the Longhorns become bowl eligible — not exactly a gimme right now standing at 4-4 — it appears likely Huey would be available.

True freshman Trey Hopkins will replace Huey in the starting lineup.
