Suffice to say, it was not a good night for the UConn Huskies. Not only did they lose convincingly to Oklahoma in the Fiesta Bowl, but they also lost their most dynamic and productive offensive player as well.
Running back Jordan Todman announced after the school’s first BcS appearance that he will declare for the April NFL draft. The move was not completely unexpected as Todman had taken part in the annual senior tradition of swapping jerseys earlier in the week.
“I felt like it was the right time for me,” Todman said. “I stand pretty good with the competition … me and my family decided it’s the right decision for me.”
Todman is currently second to Oregon’s LaMichael James in rushing yards per game at 139.7. Earlier this week, incidentally, James announced that he would be returning for another season in 2011.
Todman finishes his career in Storrs with 3,434 yards and 31 rushing touchdowns.
