Remember the concerns that Terrelle Pryor‘s supplemental draft status could be in jeopardy?
Yeah, scratch that.
Ohio State officially announced today that Pryor wouldn’t have been able to play at Ohio State at any point for the 2011 season and has banned him from any contact with the program for five years.
Why? We’re still figuring that out.
According to the Associated Press, Pryor’s agent, Drew Rosenhaus, “sought and received a letter from Ohio State stating that he would not have been eligible even after his five-game suspension to start the season”.
Additionally, because Ohio State claims Pryor “failed to cooperate” with the NCAA’s investigation of improper benefits given to Buckeye players, Pryor has been told he is to be “completely disassociated” from the program for the next five years.
This means Pryor is in the middle of an unforeseen circumstance -- and in a major, major way -- and is eligible for the NFL’s supplemental draft.
If and/or when it happens, of course.
