George Farmer carted from USC’s practice with leg injury

While there is no official diagnosis, the outlook for USC wide receiver George Farmer doesn’t look particularly promising.

The junior-to-be was carted off the field from practice on Tuesday because of what was initially described by the Trojans as an apparent leg injury. The concern? It occurred in a non-contact drill, which usually doesn’t lend itself to good news.

Scott Wolf of the Los Angeles Daily News reported later that Farmer had in fact suffered a torn ACL, though that has not been confirmed by the school. An MRI to confirm the extent of the injury is scheduled for today.

The top-rated receiver out of high school in 2011 according to Rivals.com, Farmer has been used mostly on special teams and in backup roles over the past two years as he’s battled multiple injuries.
