Marqise Lee’s injury? Just a bone bruise

USC received a scare on Friday when star receiver Marqise Lee had to be carted off the field and was later seen sporting a sling after landing awkwardly on his shoulder.

The good news for the Trojans is that Lee’s injury is nothing more than a bone bruise in his right shoulder. He’s currently listed as day to day and should be back to practicing at full speed soon. Lee missed both practices Saturday, though he was in uniform for the latter (but no pads).

“We’ve still got to get him a lot of work,” Lane Kiffin said Saturday evening. “We’ve got to make sure that we’re not relying on his athletic ability to take over and that we’re still putting him in a lot of situations so he can continue to improve as a receiver.”

Lee, the returning Biletnikoff Award winner and All-American, led all Trojans receivers in 2012 with over 1,700 yards and 14 touchdowns.
