Notre Dame QB Everett Golson ‘grew up’ during suspension

Quarterback Everett Golson has been both the savior and pariah of Notre Dame football.

It’s been 19 months since Golson was on the field leading the Fighting Irish in the BCS National Championship Game against the Alabama Crimson Tide. A crushing 42-12 loss in the sport’s biggest game wasn’t even the low point for Golson in 2013.

Golson was suspended by the university in May for an academic violation. The quarterback wasn’t reinstated until DecemberUpon his return to the team, Golson said it felt “surreal” and he “felt accomplished for a split moment.”
