Florida, Michigan among Week 6 favorites

(OddsShark.com) -- The Florida Gators will look to continue their meteoric rise up the AP Top 25 rankings when they battle the Missouri Tigers on Saturday as early 4-point betting favorites at sportsbooks monitored by OddsShark.com.

The Gators rose 14 positions in the national rankings following their stunning 38-10 upset of Ole Miss last weekend, picking up the against the spread win as 7-point home underdogs and extending their current straight up win streak to six games.

With the win, Florida enters Saturday night’s Gators vs. Tigers betting matchup at Memorial Stadium ranked No. 11 in the nation, and sit atop the SEC East division standings with a 3-0 conference record, 5-0 overall.

Mizzou picked up their first conference victory of the season last weekend, topping the South Carolina Gamecocks 24-10 as 3-point home chalk and ending a four-game ATS losing streak to begin the season.

This is the fourth meeting between these two teams in as many years, with the Tigers posting SU victories in the last two while covering the spread in all three contests.

Meanwhile, No. 18 Michigan welcomes No. 13 Northwestern to Ann Arbor on Saturday as 8-point home favorites. The Wolverines posted their second straight shutout last weekend, blanking the Maryland Terrapins 28-0 as 13.5-point chalk, and have surrendered just 14 total points in their past four contests.

The Wildcats improved to 5-0 SU, 4-1 ATS, with their 27-0 shutout of the Minnesota Golden Gophers, and have allowed an average of just seven points per game.

Michigan has dominated the Wildcats on the field in recent meetings, going 12-3 SU in their last 15 according to the OddsShark College Football Database. However, Northwestern has held the edge at the sportsbooks, posting a 9-6 ATS record in those contests.

In other college football betting action, No. 5 Utah is favored by seven points over No. 23 California in the only other Week 6 matchup between ranked squads.

The Utes crushed No. 13 Oregon 62-20 in their last outing to record their sixth straight SU win, while the Golden Bears failed to cover as 17-point favorites in a 34-28 win over the Washington State Cougars but are 5-0 SU and 3-2 ATS on the season.

No. 15 Notre Dame will look to bounce back from a disappointing 24-22 loss to Clemson when they battle the Navy Midshipmen as 14-point favorites, while the Tigers, who have risen to No. 6 in the rankings following their win over the Fighting Irish, host the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets as 7.5-point chalk.
