Miami suspends DB Cedrick Wright for NC State game

When Miami takes the field for its game Saturday against North Carolina State, the Hurricanes will do so with a somewhat depleted secondary.

In a very brief press release, The U announced that defensive back Cedrick Wright has been suspended by head coach Mark Richt for the Week 12 game against the Wolfpack.  Other than the standard unspecified violation of team rules, no reason for the punitive measure was given.

Last month, Smith, along with UM tight end Jovani Haskins, were present during former Hurricane Sam Bruce‘s arrest for pot possession, although neither of the current players were charged.  It’s unknown if the suspension stems from that incident.

Wright has played in nine of 10 games this season.  The true freshman has been credited with six tackles in limited action.

Ahead of the NC State game, Wright was not listed on the two-deep depth chart.
